Scholarships and Grants at Adelphi University New York 2022

Scholarships and grants are types of aid that do not have to be repaid. They may take the form of Adelphi University scholarships or need-based grants, federal or state grants, or outside scholarships. Application deadlines may apply to certain types of aid.

Adelphi University’s Institutional Awards

Adelphi scholarships are renewable each year for students who meet certain performance criteria. Adelphi need-based grants are renewable for students who meet the FAFSA filing priority deadline of February 15 each year and continue demonstrating financial need.

Eligible students are automatically considered for most Adelphi scholarships upon acceptance. Our grants are awarded to students based on financial need as determined by filing the FAFSA and other defined criteria. Except where noted, no additional application is required.

Federal and State Grants

You must complete the FAFSA to be considered for federal and state grants. Residents must take additional application steps for New York State scholarships and grants.

Health Grants for Nursing/Social Worker master’s degree students

Health Resources and Services Administration’s $1.92 million grant will help train Adelphi students to serve children and adolescents in under-resourced communities. Grant will start this fall with 30 master’s degree students—15 from the College of Nursing and Health and 15 from the School of Social Work. Each will be granted $10,000 a year.

New York Noyce STEAM Pipeline Program

Through scholarship support, the New York Noyce STEAM Pipeline Program at Adelphi/NSF Robert Noyce Program is designed to encourage individuals with a background in science and trained in STEM fields to consider a teaching career in science education. Students will receive $26,000 of tuition support for the 13-month graduate program.

NYC  DOE Teaching Fellows Programs

NYC Department of Education’s six-year grant—$1.5 million a year—will prepare 150 teaching fellows yearly for New York City public schools at Adelphi’s Manhattan Center. Programs include teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) and special education (including autism).
